Adidas Hosts Star-Studded Roller Skating Party During New York Fashion Week
adidas Originals and Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace welcomed a stylish crowd of stars, skaters and sneakerheads, during New York Fashion Week, with a night of roller skating at The Rink at Rockefeller Center that captured the soul of the adidas Superstar.
Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace co-founder Liberty Ross and adidas along with special guests included Jimmy Iovine, Meek Mill, Nick Cannon, NLE Choppa, Quincy Brown, Saweetie, Yaya DaCosta, YG and many more skated the night away while celebrating the brands’ impact on culture and style.
Paying homage to the legacy of the adidas Originals Superstar and Flipper’s skate culture, both brands united to transform the adidas Superstar into a detachable roller skate and collaborative tracksuit for the event night. Guests skated the night away to the sounds of DJ T.J. Mizell and DJ Quiana Parks while they enjoyed signature sips by CÎROC Ultra-Premium Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, Tequila Don Julio and Seedlip Non-Alcoholic Spirits.
The iconic Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace, originally opened in 1979 in Hollywood, has recently been reopened and reimagined by Flipper’s daughter Liberty Ross, along with Co-Founder Kevin Wall and in partnership with Usher. The first roller rink of its kind with state-of-the-art sound and lighting. Flipper’s is a cultural hub bringing together roller skaters, musicians, fashion and artists.
In April 2022, Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace opened at The Rink at Rockefeller Center as a place to celebrate roller skating and the growing subculture dedicated to self-expression and creative movement. Flipper’s returned to Rockefeller Center this past April for its second season, to bring roller skating back to the heart of New York City through September 2023. In November 2022, Flipper’s opened a 34,000 sq ft flagship venue in the heart of White City, London, bringing the brand’s “less scroll, more roll” philosophy to new regions around the globe.
