2022 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Honorees

Billboard, the leading music brand in the world, unveiled its much-anticipated 2022 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players list and issue, honoring executives across the R&B and Hip-Hop business, with an evening of festivities including an intimate cocktail reception followed by a Billboard Live: R&B/Hip-Hop concert event featuring City Girls and Flo Milli at Academy LA in Hollywood.

The evening kicked off with a Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players cocktail reception celebrating some of the most powerful names in R&B and Hip-Hop. Grammy® Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Future handed out the Rookie of the Year Award to up-and-coming rapperBlxst. Grammy Award-winning, chart-topping and multi-platinum selling recording artist SZA was also on hand to present the award for Executive of the Year to Tim Hinshaw, Head of Hip-Hop & R&B at Amazon Music. Editor-In-Chief of VIBE Magazine, Datwon Thomas honored SAINt JHN with the Rémy Martin x Vibe Impact and Excellence Award for his remarkable efforts to help his community and the next generation of musicians.

 

Following the exclusive reception, attendees and fans were treated to Billboard Live: R&B/Hip-Hop, Billboard’s first-ever consumer event celebrating the unveiling of R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players list and issue.  Flo Milli’s high-energy kickoff performance powered by Samsungfeatured a setlist of fan favorites, while the hit-making City Girls delivered an electrifying headlining performance of their biggest hits including “Rodeo,” “Where The Bag At,” “Twerk,” “Act Up,” and more.

Billboard Live: R&B/Hip-Hop attendees walked away with Samsung sponsored swag and hands-on experience with the latest Samsung Galaxyproducts on display throughout the event. Additionally, Billboard and the Intel® Evo™ platform launched an exclusive NFT collaboration to support the event. Attendees enjoyed Rémy Martin cocktails, including  The Rémy Sidecar, The Rémy Ginger and The Rémy Old Fashioned, made with Rémy Martin XO, signature of the Cellar Master and a unique blend of up to hundreds of eaux de vie.
