AFRICAN AMERICAN MAYORS ASSOCIATION HOSTS ITS 2023 ANNUAL CONFERENCE “OUR MAYORS OUR CITIES: THE CATALYST FOR EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH”

Member-mayors from across the country and federal officials come together to discuss pressing issues and innovative solutions in their cities

The African American Mayors Association will host its ninth Annual Conference, “Our Mayors Our Cities: The Catalyst for Equitable and Inclusive Growth.” More than 80 Black American mayors from throughout the country, the largest to ever convene at AAMA’s Conference, will convene with federal officials and business council members in Washington, D.C. this week to elevate dialogue that informs and empowers the future of leadership, change, and growth in cities across America. At a historic time when Black American mayors represent the nation’s four largest cities, this national conference will allow our leaders to draw strength from each other and discuss the innovative solutions and funding opportunities they are bringing to the table in their respective cities.

On Friday morning, there will be a Corporate Business Council Breakfast and Fireside Chats with Robert Smith, Founder, Chairman & CEO, Vista Equity Partners and Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. (Little Rock, AR) and U.S. Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Department of Transportation and Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard (Mt. Vernon, NY). That same morning there will be a Panel Discussion from “The Big 4” Mayors: Mayor Karen Bass (Los Angeles, CA), Mayor Eric Adams (New York, NY), Mayor Sylvester Turner (Houston, TX), Mayor Lori Lightfoot (Chicago, IL).
